No external confirmation, no measurable progress, no proof the effort is connecting. The silence does not feel like patience—it feels like doubt wearing the clothes of reason. The voice says "maybe this isn't working" and points to the absence of results as evidence rather than as a stage.

Is the voice saying "quit"? No. It's saying "maybe this isn't working" or "try a different approach." It sounds like strategy. It feels like wisdom. It's the discomfort of uncertainty looking for an exit.

Are your actions wasted? No. They accumulate below the surface in ways not yet visible. Discipline built, volume created, familiarity developed—none visible from outside, all real.

How long is normal? Weeks. Months. Sometimes much longer. Pressfield: 17 years. The silence is a stage, not evidence of failure.

What determines the outcome? Continuing when nothing answers back. The person who quit during silence never reaches the threshold. The person who continued doesn't always reach it either—but they're the only one who can.
