We tend to associate progress with novelty. New ideas feel like movement. New language feels like improvement. But forward motion and real advancement are not the same thing.

The difference that matters is not between knowing and not knowing, but between learning and ingraining.

• Where have standards softened in the name of flexibility or alignment?

• What principle do I agree with in theory but fail to enforce in practice?
